Robotic Projects on the topic: «Robots for a Safer World» and exciting robotic battles at ROBOTEX CYPRUS 2023

The 6th Robotex Pancyprian Robotics Competition is organized by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) at the Sports Centre of the University of Cyprus on the weekend of July 1st and 2nd, 2023.

Robotex Cyprus 23 is open to pupils, students and adults, and participation is free of charge. The winning teams will be eligible to participate in Robotex International 2023 in Estonia, from which the Cypriot delegation has returned with numerous distinctions in previous years.

The competition features various exciting robotic battles, SUMO, Line Following challenges of different levels, the Folkrace car rally, maze-solving, and Color Picking. This year, a new exciting Lego Sumo 3kg challenge has been added. Building on last year's success, the competition also includes Girls Fire Fighting, which aims to attract more women into STEM fields.

"Robots for a Safer World" is the topic of the established Engino and Lego educational robotics exhibition aimed at primary school students, while an Open Category for robotic constructions/projects was added last year, aimed at Secondary school students and college students.

The two-day event will be open to the public and technology enthusiasts. Guests can look forward to an action-packed weekend, applauding all the young participants and enjoying drone demonstrations, interactive exhibitions, musical and dance performances, and other events for people of all ages.

The largest educational robotics festival in Cyprus is organized by the Cyprus Computer Society with the University of Cyprus, the Youth Board, and the IET Cyprus as co-organizers. The event is under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Christodoulides, and has been approved by the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth, as well as ETEK (Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber).

The Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy supports Robotex Cyprus 2023 as the Diamond Sponsor, with the Research and Innovation Foundation (IDEK) as a sponsor. Long-time partners of the CCS, XM, serve as the Technology Partner, and the Bank of Cyprus as the Youth Supporter. Neapolis University Paphos is the Gold Sponsor, while Engino, Huawei, Kardex AND Hellas Sat serve as Silver Sponsors. The Bronze Sponsors include Novatex, Zebra, NETinfo, and ICDL. Robo.com.cy is the gift-donor for the winners, and scholarships for lyceum students are provided by all private universities.
