Theme of Educational Robotics: Robots and the World of Water

This year's theme for Educational Robotics categories of ENGINO, LEGO and MAKEBLOCK will be «ROBOTS AND THE WORLD OF WATER». Water as a precious and necessary resource for the survival of humans and all animal organisms, for the preservation and development of the environment and for the development of humanity in general. Its scarcity or the restriction of its supply creates insurmountable problems in the daily life of citizens, while its exploitation in various regions of the world tends to create tensions between states. It is found in homes for drinking, in fields for irrigation purposes and is transported through streams and rivers to reach the sea and oceans, but it is now a danger and a deadly threat in cases of catastrophic floods.

Whether on our planet or in fantasy worlds, children can be inspired by oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, dams and streams, or even by outer space, where water can be the source of life.

In this context, the issue is not limited to the use of water at home or for agriculture, but extends to all its forms, production, treatment, process, transport and exploration in the seas and oceans, taking into account the climate change crisis and its consequences.

Teams are encouraged to explore the use of robotics technology in combination with Artificial Intelligence in presenting a unique and innovative solution/construction. In this regard, you may recall the AI FOR GOOD INITIATIVE which leverages Artificial Intelligence for the benefit of humanity as well as the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (https://sdgs.un.org/goals) and specifically Goal 6 – Clean Water & Sanitation (https://sdgs.un.org/goals/goal6 ).
