Recognition for Cyprus & Volunteer Contribution

Eight volunteers from the Organizing and Scientific Committee of Robotex Cyprus represented the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) at the national Robotex event. The Robotex International organizers awarded Cyprus with a Certificate of Excellence as the “Longest Serving Robotex Branch.” The award was received by the head of the Cypriot delegation, Mr. Alkis Spyrou, President of the IET Council and IET Cyprus Local Network, co-organizer of Robotex Cyprus. Also present were Mr. Miltos Karras, President of the Technical Committee of Robotex Cyprus and educator at Archangelos Gymnasium, and Mr. Odysseas Economides, CEO of ROBO.CY, a sponsor of Robotex Cyprus. It is worth noting that the timer screens used in the Line Following competition "traveled" from Cyprus, generously loaned by our volunteer Solomos Demetriou.

Future Prospects & Activities

Congratulations to all teams for their outstanding performances and international successes! We eagerly look forward to their future accomplishments.

Our young roboticists have proven once again that Cyprus can lead on the global robotics stage.

We look forward to the next Robotex Cyprus and Minoan RobotSports Competition in June 2025.

Meanwhile, CCS continues to host annual student activities focused on digital skills. During the Christmas holidays, the first round of the Informatics Olympiad will take place online, while the registration deadline for the First Lego League robotics competition is in mid-January.
